JOHANNESBURG - A court in Harare Zimbabwe on Wednesday released on bail pastor Evan Mawarire, the founder of the #ThisFlag protest movement who last year led a surge of protests against President Robert Mugabe.
He is charged with subversion.
High Judge Clement Phiri ordered that Mawarire pay bail equivalent to R4,030, surrender his passport and report twice a week to the police.
The preacher was arrested last week at an airport in Zimbabwe upon his return from the United States.
He had fled the country in July last year.
