Lourens Groenewald was once a racist and a feared policeman. He was at the forefront of the 1976 Soweto uprising. But the violence he was part of, had devastating psychological effects on him. It turned him into an alcoholic. As a result, he ended up being a hobo. Ironically, Lourens was saved from the streets by those he once hated. Now he’s a different man, committed to rebuilding South Africa.
