eNCA scoops exclusive interview with China's new leader, President Xi Jinping

Posted on: Mon 08 Apr 2013

Ahead of the BRICS summit in Durban, new Chinese  President Xi Jinping has chosen to give his first foreign media interview to eNCA. In a world-exclusive, eNCA Asia Bureau Chief John Bailey got to speak to the secretive and private newly-appointed head of China.

China may be the world’s second-largest economy but President Xi is facing questions at home about whether his country can sustain its explosive growth rates, whether it can modernise its economy and whether it can clean up its environment.

Abroad, many still question China’s intentions – as it grows will it seek to dominate, both in Africa and the rest of the world?

And what does President Xi do to relax?
