JOHANNESBURG - They could be the next Schumacher, Hamilton and Räikkönen. But their surnames are Saaiman, Kotze, and Marais.

They are girls revving up a storm in junior motor racing.

Ten-year-old Megan Kotze, for example, recently became the first girl to be crowned South Africa's junior go-karting champion.

And don’t underestimate their 60cc vehicles. The girls whizz around at speeds of up to 100km an hour.

The little petrolheads are encouraging more girls to get behind the wheel.
