JOHANNESBURG - Bell Pottinger’s Asia unit is cutting ties with the embattled public relations firm.

The Asian wing will relaunch under a new name, Klareco Communications.

It will also be under new ownership and go into administration as early as next week.

Bell Pottinger has been harshly sanctioned for running the racially charged "White Monopoly Capital" campaign in South Africa.

The Public Relations and Communications Association in the UK handed its most serious punishment in history to the company last week -- a five-year ban.

The company was contracted to the Gupta-owned Oakbay Investments.

The Asian company will retain most of its clients.
