JOHANNESBURG - Banking group Nedbank is requesting a new lead partner following the resignation of two executives from KPMG South Africa.
Nedbank says one of the executives that stepped down at KPMG was a lead engagement partner with the bank.
The executive worked on the banking group’s audit, with over 40 other partners from both KPMG and Deloitte.
The bank, however, says several reviews were conducted on each piece of work completed and has been assured that it was of high quality.
KPMG announced over the weekend, that two senior partners had resigned because of their work on VBS bank.
The two are facing a disciplinary hearing for not disclosing financial interests with the bank.
