SA meets Financial Action Task Force's obligations

PARIS - The International Financial Action Task Force is meeting in Paris this week.

The group was set up to counter international money laundering and terrorist financing.

Last week, Finance Minister Malusi Gigaba finally signed into law the Financial Intelligence Centre Amendment Bill.

South Africa risked being placed on a watch list if Fica wasn't being implemented.

But now that it's in full effect, the country's met all obligations outlined by the task force.
