Twelve-year-old killed execution-style as gang attack family

PORT ELIZABETH – A 12-year-old girl was killed and her father severely wounded after four men broke into their home in the suburb of Bethelsdorp in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.

The execution-style murder is believed to be gang related as may be a result of the young girl's mother having witnessed a murder in her neighbourhood.

The alleged incident witnessed by the mother involved a killing that happened a month ago.

And it would seem Angel paid for it with her life.

The family said they're now living in fear.

“I don't know if these murderers are coming back or are they still looking for someone or do they want to do something to the rest of the family,” said family relative, Gary Geduld.

“The motive for the shootings is yet to be investigated, we are following up on certain leads and the cases we are investigating is murder and attempted murder,” said Port Elizabeth police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu.

Police say they are following up on some leads.

The name of the 12-year-old victim is known to eNCA but has been withheld in order to protect the identities of the family.
