JOHANNESBURG - The ANC Women's League wants the terms of reference of the commission of inquiry into state capture to be broadened.

In a statement, it says the probe should go as far back as the apartheid years.

This view differs from the one publicly expressed by ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa.

Ramaphosa has said that diverting from the public protector's recommendations would contaminate the outcome.

The league is adamant that the inquiry is politically motivated.

It also says it's been set up to target certain individuals.
