Coffin assault convicts seek bail

JOHANNESBURG - The two men jailed for assaulting Victor Mlotshwa and shoving him into a coffin are back in court.

They are applying for bail while waiting for a Supreme Court of Appeal decision on their sentences.

Willem Oosthuizen and Theo Jackson have asked the court to reduce their 11 and 14-year sentences.

They were convicted of attempted murder, assault, kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice.

The pair shoved Mlotshwa into a coffin before threatening to set it alight.
