JOHANNESBURG - An education NGO says South African universities need to develop some of the country's official languages into languages of business and commerce.

Hendrick Makaneta of the Higher Education Transformation Network, said, "we need political will from the government that we impose at least one or two African languages as an official language of instruction in our universities, language of commerce... we believe institutes of higher education are the relevant platforms to use to ensure that we build our own languages such as isiZulu for instance."
