CAPE TOWN – With predictions that Cape Town may run out of usable drinking water by March 2018, it has become critical that residents adhere to the City’s water rationing recommendations.

Dam storage levels are at 38.5 percent at the moment, with usable water at 28.5 percent.

Water rationing could lead to supply cuts if usage is above the recommended levels, especially during peak hours.

“Reducing water usage remains the most vital intervention to help see the City through the summer ahead,” the City said in a statement on Tuesday.

The metro issued some suggestions on how to save water.
