JOHANNESBURG – The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) is investigating a case of fraud and corruption relating to the buying of votes at the ANC's December elective conference.
Ipid said there was an attempt to defraud Crime Intelligence of almost R50-million.
The money would be directed to controversial company, Brainwave Projects.
eNCA has seen an Ipid letter written to National Police Commissioner Khehla Sithole, recommending the transaction be stopped.
It also recommended that all dealings be suspended, pending the completion of the probe.
