MPs to grill SA Express over wasteful expenditure

PARLIAMENT - Government's regional carrier South African Express is appearing in front of Parliament's watchdog, Scopa, on Wednesday.

Just like SAA, the ailing SA Express is in financial trouble, and it will have to answer questions from the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, about fruitless and wasteful expenditure.

While the carrier recording a R16-million profit in the 2015/2016 financial year, an audit of its financial statements showed the company incurred the same amount in irregular expenditure.

SA Express is looking for a cash injection from Treasury.
