Maths whiz puts SA among the best

A 10-year-old Maths whiz from Roodepoort scored 89.5 percent at the recent Pacific Abacus Mental Arithmetic competition held in Hong Kong.

ROODEPOORT - A 10-year-old maths whiz from Roodepoort raised the South African flag high at an international competition.

Ethan Kirstein scored 89.5 percent at the recent Pacific Abacus Mental Arithmetic competition held in Hong Kong.

The score earned him a gold medal and the number 13 spot in his age category worldwide.

Kirstein plans to beat his score in December when the competition is due to be held in South Africa.
