SARS boss Moyane lashes KPMG

JOHANNESBURG 18 September 2017 - Legal expert Cathy Powell says it's wrong for Sars to think that paying for a report automatically makes it the property of the revenue service. Video: eNCA

JOHANNESBURG - SARS commissioner Tom Moyane insists that the KPMG’s report on the revenue service's intelligence unit is not flawed.

The auditing firm has itself publicly acknowledged the report was not entirely above board and withdrawn the findings and recommendations contained therein.

But SARS commissioner Tom Moyane defended the report at a press briefing on Monday morning:

Moyane said Sars would take legal action against KMPG and report it to the regulatory board.

All ties with KPMG would be servered, Moyane said.
