STELLENBOSCH - The uninjured son of the Van Breda family who were axed to death in Stellenbosch has calmly described to emergency services how his family were attacked in their upmarket home.

eNCA has exclusively obtained the emergency call Henri van Breda placed shortly after his mother Teresa, father Martin and their eldest son, Rudi, were killed in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

His 16-year-old sister Marli is in intensive care with severe injuries.

No arrests have been made yet.

In the almost five-minute-long call, Henri explains the family’s exact location on the De Zalze Golf Estate.

Henri, now living with an uncle, escaped the attack with minor injuries.

A family spokesperson said he is receiving counselling and being monitored.

A private memorial service for Martin, Teresa and Rudi is scheduled to be held in Pretoria next Thursday.
