ROSEBANK, Johannesburg - Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has defended the National Health Insurance (NHI) scheme on Tuesday.
The healthcare financing system is designed to bridge the gap between the public and private sectors.
Motsoaledi says the system will work, he has also warned that critics are misleading and simply scaring the public.
The health minister insists the NHI is a move towards a comprehensive health system, and an improvement from a private system which is not primary health friendly.
