Update: C-B Store workers fired over assault

Limpopo – The five C-B Stores workers, who allegedly attacked a customer, have been dismissed.

Officials from the Limpopo shop say disciplinary hearings were heard in April after the workers were released on bail.

Management further says it will support the outcome of the criminal proceedings against the workers.

They were arrested after cellphone footage showing 49-year-old Esther Mankge being assaulted went viral.

She could be seen screaming as two men beat her with belts, ropes, a broom and a rubber hammer.

The incident happened in October last year, but came to light last month.
