JOHANNESBURG - President Jacob Zuma will on Thursday address the 20th national congress of the South African Students Congress (Sasco).
This follows the release of a report that says universal free tertiary education in South Africa is unfeasible, for now.
Sasco is meeting under the theme The Year of Free Quality Education.
President Zuma released the Fees Commission report last month, which recommended government spend one-percent of GDP on education.
It also called on government to replace bursaries with government-backed loans for all students.
Sasco’s closing ceremony will be held at the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus.
