JOHANNESBURG – Limpopo outfit Ndengeza FC reigned supreme at the annual Maimane Alfred Phiri Games football festival.
Ndengeza beat Soweto side Black Poison on penalties to claim victory at the Alexandra stadium in Sunday's final.
The win is seen as a morale boost for the side ahead of their Abc Motsepe League campaign.
“To us coming here it was a platform to learn to see how people do things outside there but it was a good preparation for us for the Abc Motsepe League….its great exposure this tournament well known it’s a nice exposure for the boys to showcase their talent I just hope one or two will get recognized and play in the PSL,” said Ndengeza FC coach Ginola Mashele.
“Congrats to the winners first time coming here and conquered. I'm very happy with the support and the talents on display even though the other team lost but there has to be one winner I hope this tournament grows bigger and better,” said Map Games organiser, Maimane Phiri.
