CALIFORNIA - South Africa's Kevin Anderson defeated Argentine Nicolas Kicker to move into the fourth round of the ATP Masters 1000 event in Indian Wells, California, on Monday (Tuesday SA time).

He will now look to extend his perfect 3-0 ATP head-to-head record against last year’s Indian Wells semifinalist, No 11 seed Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain, who beat Daniil Medvedev  6-1 7-5.

The South African seventh seed sent down 22 aces to Kicker's one in the 7-6(1), 7-6(3) result.

Anderson, the 2017 US Open runner-up, has twice reached the quarterfinals in the Californian desert (2013 and 2014).
