2024 Elections | Spreaders of false information to be charged

JOHANNESBURG - People sharing disinformation or misinformation about the elections will be charged.

That is the warning from Defence Minister, Thandi Modise.

She is encouraging all citizens to exercise caution when sharing information.

Modise aded that State Prosecutors have been placed on standby to deal with any election-related crimes.

She says the security cluster is doing everything to protect voters.

She was giving an update on plans in place to secure the 29 May polls.
