Zimbabwe Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa listens as President Robert Mugabe delivers his state of the nation address to the country's parliament in Harare, August 25, 2015.
JOHANNESBURG - Zimbabwe&39;s former Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reportedly fled to South Africa after receiving death threats.
This comes two days after President Robert Mugabe axed him as his deputy.
The veteran politician was seen as a favourite to succeed the 93-year-old leader.
But Mnangagwa&39;s relationship with Mugabe&39;s wife, Grace, has become increasingly strained.
The First Lady recently called him a coup plotter.
Meanwhile, Zanu-PF has endorsed her as both the Vice President of the party and of the country.
