India injects billions to boost Zimbabwe's electricity supply: report

JOHANNESBURG - Zimbabwe is expected to benefit from a $2-billion (R23.8-billion) solar financing facility provided by India to several African countries, Construction Review reported.

It said Zimbabwean vice president Constantino Chiwenga had met India’s president Ram Nath Kovind to discuss how the African country could benefit from the financing agreement.

The discussions also covered construction, agriculture, mining, power, healthy and pharmaceuticals, with several Indian business people expected in Zimbabwe to explore investment opportunities.

The deal is expected to boost Zimbabwe&39;s electricity supply for both rural and urban areas.
