NAIROBI - The Umoja village in Kenya is regarded as a safe haven for the region&39;s women.

Rebecca Lolosoli founded the village 25 years ago.

This safe haven helps to protect the Samburu women from abuse, genital mutilation and forced marriages.

Digital video channel Broadly&39;s Michelle de Swarte documented the lives of these remarkable women.
