LUSAKA - African women in business continue to lag behind their male counterparts due to the difficult environment of the business sector.

These sentiments were expressed at the third African Women’s Summit held in Lusaka, Zambia where women are meeting to discuss the constraints they face and find solutions to improve the role of women in business.

Women say although they play a critical role in their economies, it goes unnoticed and undocumented and are calling for financial and technical support to enable them to contribute to their countries economic development.

Founder of New Faces, New Voices, Graca Machel, has urged women to form strong networks to be taken seriously.
