JOHANNESBURG - Eskom is still recovering following disruptions to the system by some workers who took part in an industrial action last month over higher wages.

At the same time, Gautrain workers only went back to work this week, after a three-week strike over wages.

What role do trade unions play in the 21st-century? Are they still serving the interests of the workes?
