COVID-19 in SA: Vaccine hesitancy among over 60’s

JOHANNESBURG - The Health Ministry is concerned about the low vaccination turnout among the elderly.

Registration for over 60s launched on  17 May, with the goal to vaccinate 5.5-million people by the end of this month.

But fewer than two million senior citizens have received their first dose of the vaccine so far.

The worry is how this may affect immunisation goals, while infections continue to surge.
