JOHANNESBURG - You might have to get another COVID-19 jab even if you've already had two shots and a booster.
As more COVID-19 variants develop, further boosters may be needed to increase immunity against the virus and prevent one from suffering severe symptoms.
Professor Alex Welte from the SA Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis, said: "The immunity we are getting is not very long-lived, it's a bit like spending the day at the beach, not covered and having to apply and reapply again the SPF50 lotion, it gives you a high level of protection but only if you keep reapplying.
"Is this something that we should be banking on without any other options, do we have other options?"
