JOHANNESBURG - As South Africa enters the second year of COVID-19, a third and fourth wave is inevitable.
Virology expert, Francois Venter, says people must prepare for more restrictions.
He's urging everyone to stick to safety protocols and to get vaccinated.
"We need to anticipate that there will be further waves, whether they are bigger than the last ones, which seem implausible considering how bad our second one was."
The Health Department confirmed 104 new COVID-19 deaths, taking South Africa's deaths toll to 50,566.
