JOHANNESBURG - As matriculants get their results, global studies show that South African education is not doing that well compared to other countries.
That is according to Crew for a Cause, a non-profit organisation looking into transforming the country's education landscape.
The organisation says this is a result of inequality, with schools in poor and rural areas not getting enough funding.
"There are two studies that people use, PESA and TIMSS," said the organisation's Matthew Sterne.
In the latest PISA results, South Africa rates last out of 79 countries.
"And at TIMMS we ranked at the very bottom."
