JOHANNESBURG - There is some good and bad news for motorists in the new year.
The petrol price will go down, but the price of diesel will increase in the first week of January 2020.
93 and 95 octane petrol will drop by four and fourteen cents a litre respectively.
Diesel however, will increase by nine cents a litre, while paraffin will go up between five and seven cents a litre.
The department of energy says the fuel price adjustments were influenced by the exchange rate between the rand and the US dollar.
