JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has some high expectations to meet when he delivers the State of the Nation Address on Thursday night.

The Grind Africa's founder Nolo Mokoena says the youth are not hopeful about their futures, especially when it comes to jobs and education.

"The main vehicle to create that (jobs) was the YES organisation - the Youth Employment Services. To date since the white paper was signed, they've only created between 2,000 and 11,000 jobs, whereas they were supposed to create around 30,000 jobs a year."

The One Campaign's Rudo Kwaramba-Kayombo says South Africa remains one of the most unequal countries in terms of employment opportunities. She's called for more investment in small businesses run by women.

Econometrix economist Sam Rolland echoes this, saying the country needs real investment in order to create jobs.
