Tavern Tragedy | Changes to alcohol laws proposed

JOHANNESBURG - The Southern African Alcohol Policy Alliance (Saapa) wants significant changes to alcohol regulations in South Africa.

The Enyobeni tavern tragedy in the Eastern Cape - where scores of teenagers died - has, of course, sparked debates about drinking in the country.

Saapa is calling on the government not only to focus on revising the legal drinking age to 21 but to also take an active stance in the prevention of abuse.
