$40.1-billion pledged in investments for Africa

Deals worth $40.1-billion (about R5,158-trillion) have been secured at this year’s Africa Investment Forum.

JOHANNESBURG - Deals worth $40.1-billion (about R5,158-trillion) have been secured at this year’s Africa Investment Forum.

This is just 20-billion short of the 67-billion target.

African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina said out of the 56 transactions that went into the boardroom 52 secured investments.

"The AIF secured deals worth 40.1 billion dollars compared with 38 .7 billion last year."

The forum concluded on after three days of talks.
