COVID-19 vaccine | Busa says declaratory court order not needed

JOHANNESBURG - Business Unity South Africa says it's no longer waiting on a High Court declaratory order for clarity on the introduction of mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations in the workplace.

It sought the order late last year to help give business owners and employers confidence on where exactly the law stands on their rights.

But Busa CEO Cas Coovadia has told eNCA that since its request to the court a number of employees have formally lost actions against their companies.

He says Busa had supported employers in many of the cases.

Coovadia says Busa’s legal team is of the view that a declaratory is order is not needed.
