Coca-Cola steps in to help fight Day Zero in Nelson Mandela Bay

GQEBERHA - Coca-Cola has stepped to help fight off Nelson Mandela Bay Day Zero.

It has handed over 3 solar-powered groundwater harvesting and treatment units.

However, Deputy Water and Sanitation Minister, David Mahlobo, warns the city is not yet in the clear.

The seven-year drought that caused the water crisis in Nelson Mandela Bay is drawing in more support from private businesses who are lending a helping hand.

These boreholes will supply about 90-million litres of water each year.

Water wheelbarrows have been donated to senior citizens.

Water and Sanitation Deputy Minister, David Mahlobo, applauds Coca-Cola for coming onboard.

Johnson has cautioned residents to use water sparingly as dam levels run at just 15-percent full.
