JOHANNESBURG - The hard-hit events sector says it expects to create more jobs now that the remaining COVID-19 restrictions suffocating the industry have been lifted.
Face masks are no longer required in any public-use indoor space.
Social gatherings aren't limited to certain numbers of attendees.
The restriction of 50 percent-only capacity in conferences, events and exhibitions also falls away.
Earlier this month, the Southern African Association for Conference Industry said it was expecting to lose billions over the next five years had restrictions stayed in place.
