JOHANNESBURG - The Special Investigative Unit (SIU) Special Tribunal has ordered Transnet's former head of Capital Projects to pay back R26.4m to the parastatal.

The Tribunal found Herbert Msagala had an inappropriate relationship with Transnet supplier, IGS Consulting, and secretly pocketed profits of R26m.

IGS Director Sipho Sithole and trustees of Msagala's family trust were also ordered to jointly refund the money to Transnet.
The judgment brings to a close a case that's been dragging on for six years.
