JOHANNESBURG - A glass shortage means that you might not be able to find your favourite tipple.

The halt in liquor supply is expected to hit tavern owners particularly hard.

The sector is still trying to recover from previous alcohol bans.

Consol Glass, a major supplier, says it's working on fixing the situation.

Lucky Ntimane from the National Liquor Traders Council said they are being subjected to rationing of products.

"So if you order ten cases, you may not get those ten, you may get one or two if you are lucky.

"So that means we're going to suffer for the next four to five months."
