Customers frustrated with insurance industry

JOHANNESBURG - The insurance sector has seen a significant increase in claims throughout the pandemic across most products and segments.

According to the 2021 South African Insurance Sentiment Index produced by PwC South Africa in collaboration with BrandsEye, digitisation of the industry also accelerated, shifting consumer behaviour and expectations.

Compared to a range of other industries, the insurance sector emerges with the lowest level of negative conversation among consumers.

Most customers complaints were over not knowing the status of their claim.
