JOHANNESBURG - The powerships due to be moored at South African ports have failed all three environmental tests.

Earlier this week, Parliament's portfolio committee on mineral resources was asked to look into the contracts for these ships, and just how cheap and clean the energy would be.

The Turkish ships were meant to provide power to our grid by July next year.

Karpowership SA spokesperson, Kay Sexwale says they plan to appeal their rejection.
