JOHANNESBURG - Domestic airline Kulula has some of its customers hot under the collar.

That's because its online 24-hour "ticket freeze" option kicked in with some purchases, even though customers hadn't requested it.

The problem is that customers are charged R50 for the ticket freeze option, in this case an option they apparently didn't choose.

The R50 amounts are automatically deducted from their accounts.

The airline now says its due to a " technical" error.
