JOHANNESBURG - Metalworkers union Numsa says it is considering a final 6-percent wage increase offer from employers in the bus sector.

The union averted a national strike that would have left thousands of long-distance commuters stranded over the Easter weekend.

It will now return to the table for talks.

When the strike was averted, employers revised their offer from 2.5 percent to 4.5 but have since raised this offer further, to 6 percent across the board.
