ISTANBUL - Emerging markets, including South Africa, have felt the effects of US protectionism.

Countries like Turkey have been hit hard with Washington imposing import tariffs on their products.

The lira tanked when US President Donald Trump took aim at Ankara.

And it's been good and bad for businesses there.
