Petrol price increases on Wednesday

FILE: The increase in the average price Brent crude oil has lead leveraged the department of Mineral Resources and Energy to increase the price of petrol. 


JOHANNESBURG - Government has announced changes to fuel prices.

The petrol price will increase by 22 cents a litre from Wednesday.

Diesel will decrease by about fifteen cents per litre and illuminating paraffin will also cost about 24 cents less for a litre.

The department of Mineral Resources and Energy says the main reason for the petrol increase is that the average Brent Crude oil price went up.

The price of diesel is down due to the seasonal decline in demand and adequate supplies.
