JOHANNESBURG - Public loss adjuster Insurance Claims Africa (ICA) is recommending that Sasria urgently pay riot-related claimants 30 percent of their insured sum upfront.
It says this would assist cash-strapped businesses to get back on their feet as quickly as possible and prevent looming retrenchments.
ICA has stressed that interim payments are needed to save businesses, while complex and lengthy claims processes are being completed.
ICA is acting for a number of claimants who together constitute the largest volume of claims submitted to Sasria after violent protests in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
