JOHANNESBURG - The Southern Africa Tourism Services Association is desperate for South Africa to be moved off the UK's red list.
It's been lobbying the UK government to do so before the critical summer months.
Currently, lost business and tourism are costing the country billions.
Association CEO David Frost says the losses associated with the red list are detrimental to South Africa's economy.
"[The UK] is incredibly important to us as a tourism destination but beyond that, there is an amazing travel between the diaspora that is taking place from South Africa to the UK and equally a lot of UK citizens that live in South Africa," he said.
