Unemployment stats | How can small businesses create jobs?

JOHANNESBURG - With South Africa’s unemployment rate having hit a new record, what role can small businesses play to create much-needed jobs?  

Economists have long argued that the country should be cultivating a culture of entrepreneurship to steer the economy in a different direction.

On Tuesday, StatsSA announced that the unemployment rate now stands at a staggering 34.9 percent.

This means more than 7.5 million people are out of work.
